Israel is condsidering swapping some of the thousands of Lebanese prisoners languishing in Israeli jails for their two captured soldiers.
Many of the prisoners have never been charged with a crime. They are locked up because of their nationality.
If Israel had considered a prisoner swap when this all began, 1100 Lebanese and 100 Israelis (including many dead Israeli soldiers – that’s irony) might still be alive.
