London – protest against the Gaza massacre

December 28th, 2008 · 1 Comment · Uncategorized

225 dead. 700 injured.

A demonstration may seem like the most pointless self-serving act you can do at a time like this. But it’s better than sitting at home.

If you’re in London, there will be noisy protests outside the Israeli Embassy which is next to Kensington Gardens (the nearest tube is High Street Kensington). They are taking place on Sunday at 2pm and Monday at 4pm (thanks to Qunfuz and Friends of Lebanon for the information).

British Labour MP Richard Burden is calling for an immediate arms embargo on Israel.

And the Islamic Human Rights Commission wonders why Gordon Brown hasn’t said a word:

“It is of great concern that, for example, the British Foreign Office can respond within minutes to a Channel 4 [television] broadcast on Christmas Day when it is made by an out of favour world leader [Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmedinijad], but remains resolutely silent on so many of the ongoing atrocities committed against Palestinians by the Israeli government.”
