Israel’s Prime Minister Benyamin Netenyahu is denying he was passed a message from Bashar Al-Assad, by Jordan’s King Abduallah.
It comes after Abdullah met Bashar in Damascus earlier this month, and then met Netanyahu in Amman on Thursday.
Al-Arabiyah TV claimed Bashar had told Abdullah to inform Israel it was ready for negotiations. It seemed a bit strange at the time to be doing things in secret – Syria has been quite open about being ready for more talks.
But now Israel says Jordan’s King didn’t tell him anything about Syria. Or maybe Netanyahu just wasn’t listening.
