In a repeat of 2007′s final – India have beaten Syria to keep hold of the Nehru Cup.
It was a much closer match than last time, with the two sides remaining level for the full 90 minutes. The game went to extra time, where both sides scored a single goal.
Syria were favourites to win the tournament, and had not conceded a single goal in any of their matches.
The final had to be decided on penalties. India got 5 in the net, Syria got 4.
The home crowd of 15,000 mainly Indians went wild. Congratulations to them. Commiserations to Syria.
